One for the Road – “We are the Clay”

When the clay forms the Potter.  That’s when man forms God into his own image.

This is idolatry at its worst.

Here are some examples.

The God of accommodation…when people imagine a God who adjusts his requirements to fit their desires.

The God of convenience…when people give God the time and service that fits their schedule.

The God of good feelings…when people imagine God is interested only in pleasure – never suffering.

The God of prosperity…when people project a God who caters to their cravings.

Not so.  Listen to Isaiah:  “…I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.”

People of faith bow before Him…crying “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty…”

He’s the Potter…we are the clay.
