One for the Road – “The End of Patience”

The end of patience.  Watch out!  That’s a very dangerous place.

Like a volcanic eruption – the pressure builds until there is an explosion.

It can happen with people at work…at church…or even at home.

You tolerate…make excuses…invent alibis – then it happens.  You lose control…and emotions take over.

That’s the end of patience.  And…the results are never good.

Of course…circumstances can be unfair – stressful – and intolerable.  But…that’s just the moment to take charge of your emotions.

The Bible calls it being longsuffering – that is…taking charge at the end of patience.

That’s what Jesus did…over and over.  The enemies taunted and mocked Him – relentlessly.  But…He never lost control.

At the end of patience…practice being longsuffering.
