No shame. That can be good or bad.
Good…if it means no condemnation. That’s the power of Jesus’ redemptive work.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”
But bad…if it means hardness of heart – the loss of moral sensitivity.
Jeremiah comments on this: “Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush.”
No shame. A people so wicked that they have lost the ability to blush.
There is a warning here. Don’t ever become so accustomed to evil that you no longer blush.
Instead…stay close to Jesus.
Then…when you see evil…it will put a blush on your face – rightly so.
